One of the best views of the Los Angeles basin is atop the bluffs at LMU. You can see Marina Del Rey and the Santa Monica Bay to your left and all the way downtown and beyond to your right. This was the perfect picturesque setting for D.J. to pop the big question. D.J. picked up Holly after she had breakfast with her friends (who all knew) and drove her to the location at LMU under the guise that they were going to have lunch with his parents. When they arrived, D.J. led her to the John Patrick Hanna Bench, designated as a bench where couples “may seriously discuss the future” (see plaque below). He directed her attention over the cliff, where he had 400 roses set up to spell out “Marry Me?” Once she realized what was happening (and after seeing D.J. on one knee with a ring proposing) she screamed out an excited “YES!” After grabbing a few hidden photos of the couple arriving and the proposal, I was able to get closer for the next surprise – both families and friends running over to congratulate them with champagne and roses. Congratulations Holly and D.J.!
